9-1-1 in the News | Greg | July 17, 2009 at 8:55 am
Authorities in Dyer County, Tennessee are looking for a 911 caller who triggered an AMBER Alert with a hoax call.
One after another the calls came into the Dyer County Dispatch Center. A girl identifying herself as 13-year-old Latrice Watson tells the dispatcher she and her 10-year-old sister have been kidnapped by who a man who is molesting them.
The girl calls four times, two to Dyer County, two to Pemiscott County, triggering a West Tennessee amber alert. Dyer County Captain Larry Bell says they put every officer they had on the street and called in extra dispatchers.
State highway patrol and Pemiscott county also joined in the search for the two girls but after listening closely to the last call they started to believe it was all a hoax.
