911 Center can now map calls from AT&T cell phone users

Calls from customers of the largest cellular phone carrier in the area are now mapping on dispatchers’ computer screens at the Tulsa 911 Center, enabling police, firefighters and ambulance medics to find them if they cannot tell the dispatchers where they are.
Testing on Tulsa’s enhanced wireless system — technology that helps emergency responders find victims who are dialing 911 from wireless phones — was completed for AT&T Mobility on Sept. 11, said Ken White, operations manager for the 911 Center.
