NORCOM 911 Dispatcher Honored

Canby resident Rick Wright received two awards this month recognizing his work as a dispatcher at the NORCOM 911 center in Woodburn.
The 43-year-old Wright was named Telecommunicator of the Year and was one of three NORCOM dispatchers honored for their work during the Dec. 12, 2008, Woodburn bank bombing.
In all, four NORCOM employees received awards at the annual conference for the Oregon chapter of the Association of Public Communications Officials and the National Emergency Number Association. Dispatcher Tobey Olson of Molalla received a Lifesaver Award for helping save a life with her over the telephone CPR instructions.
