A 10-year-old boy received a hero’s welcome Tuesday afternoon at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for a 911 call that saved his mother’s life.
“She’s on the floor,” Connor Suglia told the 911 operator in the Sept. 24th call.
“I’m not sure if she’s out cold or…”
Despite the terrifying situation, Connor stayed calm. He made sure his mother, Marla, knew help was on the way and relayed information to the 911 operator.
Mom was no worse for the wear Wednesday.
Connor was all smiles.
He received a raucous applause from a room full of deputies, posed for pictures with Sheriff Jerry Demings and became a local news star.
“I knew if I freaked out I wouldn’t be able to get anything accomplished,” he told reporters.
It was obviously an emotional day for mom as she choked back tears the whole time.
“Everyday of his life I’m proud of him,” she said. “Especially today!”
