911 Call Released in Fatal 4th of July Boat Accident

boat_accident2The July 4th weekend proved deadly at Lake Pleasant, Arizona. A boat drove over the top of another boat, killing one woman and sending others to the hospital.

The calls stress the importance of boat safety and how quickly a day at the lake can turn deadly.

Operator: 911 do you have an emergency.
Caller: Yes we’re at Lake Pleasant and two boats just crashed and my friends one of them is hurt. She’s dead!

Helpless and stranded in the middle of Lake Pleasant, Amber Marks’ friend calls 911 after their boat collided with another boat.

Everyone on scene was hysterical, unable to give 911 operators their exact location so paramedics can find them.

Caller: I don’t know ma’am we’re in the middle of nowhere and there’s blood everywhere and my friend I think she’s dead!

32-year-old Amber Marks, a mother of two, was killed during the crash. Her husband was seriously injured and lost a leg.

Deputies are still investigating what happened, but witnesses say one boat actually ended up on top of the other. Deputies say alcohol may have played a role in the accident, but have yet to confirm that.

Caller: We see the police…
Operator: You can see them?
Caller: Yes, yes, yes!

Deputies are waiting on toxicology results before any charges are filed.
