Columbus, OH and Madison, CT – Leading Public Safety software firm, EmergiTech, Inc. and PowerPhone, a leading provider of 911 call taking systems, announced the availability of application integration between their respective Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Computer Aided Call Handling (CACH) systems. The integrated solution is designed to help 911 agencies streamline their call taking and dispatch functions, resulting in a more efficient delivery of emergency services.
EmergiTech (www.emergitech.com) is a premier provider of public safety solutions, with over 26 years experience creating computer aided dispatch, records management systems, and mobile data solutions. The company’s INTERCad™ helps public safety agencies of all sizes manage incident information with modules for CAD, Field Reporting, Records Management, and more.
PowerPhone’s CACH® (Computer Aided Call Handling) is designed to simplify and standardize the 911 information gathering process. Appropriate Police/Fire/EMS protocols and pre arrival instructions are presented dynamically as a call proceeds. Based on answers to questions asked, CACH generates an objective recommendation of resources needed and their priority.
With the connection to INTERCad, CACH is able to pass objective response recommendations on to the dispatcher, as well as append specific call details directly to the incident record. This integration will allow 911 call takers to gather and relay scene specific information to responders prior to their arrival, helping to better ensure both victim and responder safety.
“Technology has played an important role in public safety for years, but it can also get in the way of a prompt and appropriate response if it doesn’t work right,” said Eric Esfahanian, PowerPhone’s VP of Sales and Marketing. “The interoperability of EmergiTech’s INTERCad to PowerPhone’s CACH is a very important milestone and a sign to our mutual customers that the partners they’ve chosen are committed to working together to improve dispatch operations, and the standard of care in the communities they serve.”
“We are committed to providing the most value to our clients by developing application interoperability with best in class solutions,” said Chuck Brady, Director of Product Planning. “Through the integration of the two applications, our clients will benefit from a seamless, bi-directional flow of information, eliminating redundancy and creating a more effective and efficient response to calls for service.”
PowerPhone (Booth #1439) and EmergiTech (Booth #418) will be at the APCO Annual Conference & Expo in Houston TX, August 1-4, 2010.
