Calgary emergency officials have admitted they mishandled a 911 call relating to the torture case of Dustin LaFortune.
Last month, Calgary’s Public Safety Communications centre confirmed an investigation was underway into a 911 call placed on February 28th relating to the high-profile case. During the 7-minute call, the caller claimed they were being threatened by someone connected to the case, but no officers were dispatched.
The results of the investigation were released on Tuesday which included more details of the call.
The 911 call was made by a male who alleged that Dustin Paxton had threatened him. Dustin Paxton is charged with aggravated assault and forcible confinement in relation to the torture of Dustin LaFortune.
The Emergency Communications Officer (ECO) who took the call in February determined there was no immediate risk to the caller, so they did not dispatch police.
